With the recent resurgence of space travel in the media, the start-up company has dedicated a new collection to commemorate both the past and present named the "Race to Space Editions".

With the latest collection, founder Patrick Hohmann has sent the German space community into an almost frenzy by salvaging the rocket that flew legendary German astronaut Alexander Gerst to the International Space Station (ISS) from the Kazakh Steppe and transporting them back to Switzerland to be used in the brand’s latest collection.

Astronauts have achieved something so few humans have, experiencing first-hand a new perspective of our planet. A new perspective – a new way of seeing the world – a new way of thinking. And it is a new mindset we ourselves can learn.

Space changes people. It shifts their mindset – shifts their boundaries – shifts their worldview. And it is from this principle that I have made the ideology of Werenbach, and one which has strongly influenced the company's development.

Zurich: With its new collection of watches made from authentic rocket material, Zurich-based start-up Werenbach has achieved a Swiss record on the international crowdfunding platform kickstarter.com.

Truly out of this world: Swiss watch brand WERENBACH presents a digital innovation

Zurich – Following its record-breaking crowdfunding success, Swiss watch company Werenbach extended its exclusive range of rocket watches in mid-November.

Zurich - His project was fully funded in just 30 minutes. Now – after two months - Patrick Hohmann has raised more than 768,000 CHF.

On April 23, 2017 the German TV station Pro 7 broadcasted a documentary on Galileo. This documentary shows how a rocket is recovered in the Kazakh steppe.

On our first two visits to Kazakhstan in 2012, we never even made it near the exclusion zone.

Right on time for the annual Baselworld – World Watch and Jewellery Show (17 March to 24 March 2016), Werenbach has expanded its range with a new model.

Through the combination of watches and literary pursuit, Patrick Hohmann, founder of WERENBACH, joins two worlds to create something entirely new: the fusing of timepieces with a true tale of adventure.

On 3rd August, motorcyclist Urs Pederita set out on his attempt to break a world record. On his wrist? A Werenbach watch. The challenge? To make it round the world on his motorbike in less than 20 days.

Werenbach is launching part one of its new watch collection. What sets these watches apart is the material that goes into them: the case is made from the melted-down outer shell of a genuine Soyuz space rocket following its mission.

On 23rd January, 2013, Andrea Duttweiler, Marco Vannotti and Patrick Hohmann founded the company Werenbach in Zürich-Hottingen, Switzerland.

It barely seemed real. Even as I signed the contract, it was difficult to imagine that the truck carrying the rocket parts would ever actually make it to Switzerland.

The second journey to Kazakhstan took place eight months after the first. The intervening period had been unfruitful in terms of getting the material to Switzerland.

A watch made from a space rocket… For two years, this idea gnawed away at me at all hours of the day and night.

It was on a warm April weekend. I had to release the stress from a hard working week and went jogging in the woods.
