Discount: This model is part of our original generation of watches and is no longer produced.

Dial cut directly from the fairing (nose cone). The surface is lightly buffed, which means that every watch is different thanks to colour variations or unique traces of wear and tear.

This Swiss movement represents the latest generation of STP (Swiss Technology Production). It builds on the legendary ETA 2824.

The launch sequencer scale shows the stages of the rocket on its way to orbit. Information about the time, altitude and phases (rocket stages 1, 2 and 3) are arranged on the watch face, allowing the wearer to see when the three rocket stages would have been jettisoned.

Description

Original rocket aluminium.

Supplied with the leftover part of the rocket fragment.

The dial of this model is milled directly from the rocket and bears the original colour and surface quality (wear and tear, traces of colour). Thanks to these organic traces of wear and tear, each dial is totally unique on closer inspection. During its mission, the rocket material left Earth and made contact with space at an altitude of 85 km.

Patina and rocket dust.

The dial of this rocket watch comes from the fairing. The rocket debris are personally salavaged by Werenbach in the steppe, allowing us to identify (and certify) which rocket mission the material comes from.

Soyuz MS-04. The rocket in the watch.

SOYUZ MS-04 was the name of a flight mission in which a Soyuz-series Russian spacecraft traveled to the International Space Station (ISS). It was the 50th visit of a Soyuz spacecraft to the ISS and the 156th flight in the Soyuz programme.

Rockets fly into space in three stages. The first stage is jettisoned in two parts: one at an altitude of 45 km, the second at an altitude of 85 km. The burnt-out rocket parts fall into the uninhabited steppe of Kazakhstan. Stage 3 reaches orbit at an altitude of about 200 km, just 8.59 seconds after leaving Earth. From this altitude, the spacecraft flies to the International Space Station at an altitude of about 400 km.

There is no ‘fixed boundary’ to outer space. Rather, the transition between space and the Earth’s atmosphere is fluid. The Fédération Aéronautique International (FAI) adopts the so-called Kármán line, which sets the boundary at an altitude of 100 km. For the US Air Force (USAF) outer space begins at 80 km. Viewed according to this definition, parts of the Soyuz fairing have crossed the boundary to outer space. These rarer watch models can be identified by their white dials and the lettering ‘FAIRING MATERIAL’.

Richly detailed. Expertly executed.

Design shaped by the rocket itself.

The rocket gives the space watch its ‘face’. Each dial retains the original colour and traces of the space mission.

‘FAIRING ROCKET MATERIAL’ means that the material originates from the fairing (nose cone) of the rocket. The coordinates on the dial indicate the launch point of the rocket in Baikonur. ‘ORBIT 8:49 MIN’ is a reminder of the time the rocket requires to reach orbit.

Open case back.

The rocket mission is engraved on the back of the watch.

The back of the watch is open to allow a glimpse at its most intricate component: the balance wheel. This oscillates constantly and breathes life into the mechanics.
